Volker Hinze, guitarist and co-founder of the GDR rock band DIE KOSMONAUTEN, has never really gotten back on his feet after a failed escape to the republic and free purchase in the West.
In contrast, Marco Hoffmann, the frontman of the cosmonauts, not only married their mutual friend Johanna and later made her his manager, he also rose to the star in the German Schlager heaven. Hinze suddenly accuses him of being the "IM singer" who betrayed him to the Stasi and destroyed his life. Hoffmann sees his career and relationship with Johanna threatened.
